THE COMPANY
Working together since 1990, the three Artistic Directors of this company and recent award winners of the “Contact East Touring Award” creates works of physical inventiveness that portray the human experience through humour and pathos. Innovative costuming, props, sets and music are integral components of their visually stimulating, physically challenging and communicative work. MOTUS O has toured throughout Australia, the USA and Canada.

Nothing has intrigued, inspired or frustrated humans more through history than the elusive emotion love. MOTUS O continues this trend with a series of cogitative, succinctly energetic and profoundly humourous short works.

VARIATIONS IN LOVE
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Motus O has toured extensively and is very adaptable to performing in various venues. All information and scheduling is subject to change and will vary depending on the venue’s norms and procedures. All information will be discussed and agreed upon by the venue’s Technical Director and Motus O’s Tour Manager and/ or Stage Manager.
CREW:
1 audio operator, l lighting operator, 1 asm or backstage hand (needed for load-in, set-up, show, strike and load-out)
MOTUS O travels with 1 Stage Manager, 7 Performers who assist with set-up and strike
SCHEDULE:
The schedule will vary, depending on the venue’s norms and procedures
Time must be allowed to set lighting and sound levels
The crew call and schedule will be discussed and agreed upon by the venue’s Technical Director and MOTUS O’s Tour Manager and/or Stage Manager
STAGE:
A clean level stage with suitable surface for dance
Minimum dimensions: 20' x 30' and a ceiling minimum of 15'
A minimum of 5’ of wing space on each side of the stage
All wing space and backstage areas be clean and clear of obstruction for the safety of the performers
Access to wings from stage must be level and unobstructed i.e. free from cables and cable mats
Main curtain, if available, may be flown or travelled
6 chairs (3 either side of stage) needed for hanging costumes for quick costume changes
Cyclorama for video projection (if available)
DRESSING ROOMS:
The company requires a minimum of 2 clean dressing rooms: one female, one male
Each should have a minimum capacity of 4 people
Each dressing room should have a costume rack and each person must have a chair with counter and mirror space
AUDIO:
1 CD Player
House speakers
2 monitors on stage (Downstage Right and Downstage Left) for CD feedback. Monitors should be run post fader.
Clear Com set up with headsets for lighting and sound operators, stage supervisor, our stage manager (in booth)
An experienced audio operator
A video projector is used throughout the production. Please have room available at the rear of the seating area, or from the booth. Whichever allows for a full projection onto the cyc.
LIGHTING: Lighting plot will be provided
If possible, plot should be pre-hung to our arrival
Our Stage Manager will be in contact with you to discuss details
Minimum Requirements:

4 colour cyc (R122, R120, R23, R74)
1 warm (R51) back wash
1 red (R27) back wash
1 blue (R74) back wash
6 open white (O/W) specials
shins or footlights
full stage break up gobo wash (o/w)
blue running lights for backstage costume changes
Preferred Requirements:

Shin wash (R02 or R99 – stage right, R52 or R51 – stage left)
Warm boom wash (R02 or R23)

Tips; amber (R23), blue (R74), gobo break up (o/w)

PROJECTION:
The company will require a suitable position for our projector and projectionist, either at the rear of the house or in the booth
Position should be no more than 150 feet away from the rear of stage
HOSPITALITY:
For the performers and crew members (8 people) the presenter should provide, if possible, snacks and beverages such as soft drinks, fruit juices, bottled water, hot water for coffee & tea, fresh fruit, raw vegetables, and cheese & crackers. If two performances are scheduled in the same day, a light meal consisting of sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta, etc. (including vegetarian options) should be provided between performances. Access to a microwave is appreciated.
PARKING:
MOTUS O requires parking for one van with trailer (totaling 37’ in length), with access to the venue’s loading dock
STUDIOS:
If studio or rehearsal space is available, please have it booked for us. This allows us to move warm ups and rehearsals off the stage, allowing unrestricted use of the theatre for set-up and levels.
LAUNDRY:
If available the company would like to have access to laundry facilities at the venue
TEMPERATURE:
Due to the nature of the performance and for the safety of the dancers, it is very important that the temperature of the stage, backstage and dressing rooms be at least 22°C (72°F). This should be set prior to our arrival.
