DELUSIONS

MOTUS O, known for their exuberant and accessible style of dance theatre, brings to you a thrilling blend of theatrics, ballet, modern and contact improvisational movement.  Combine that with their stunning visuals, gracefulness and physical feats, and you have an evening never to be forgotten.

This full-length production “Delusions” takes a look at the quirks and turmoil’s of the topsy-turvy world we live in.  Packed with beauty, emotion and humour, MOTUS O takes you on a thrilling ride that will leave you breathless.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

CREW:  1 audio operator, l lighting operator, 1 asm or backstage hand

STAGE: A clean level stage with suitable surface for dance.

Minimum dimensions:  20' x 30' with a minimum of 5' wings and a

  ceiling minimum of 15'.

AUDIO: 1 CD Player

1 Cassette Player

House speakers and mixer (as appropriate)

PCC microphones on apron floor for vocal pick-up (if available)

2 monitors

Clearcom system (minimum 3 stations)

MASKING: Legs and borders adequate to mask wings

LIGHTING: Minimum Requirements:

1 (R57) front of house wash

4 colour cyc (R122, R120, R23, R74)

1 warm (R51) back wash

1 red (R27) back wash

1 blue (R74) back wash

6 open white (O/W) specials

2 shins or footlights each making a diagonal path (o/w upstage

right; o/w upstage left)

Full stage break up gobo wash (o/w)

Curtain warmers

Blue running lights for backstage costume changes 

Preferred Requirements:

DRESSING ROOMS:  One large enough for 6 people.  Rooms should have

                mirrors, chairs, tables and lights.

SCHEDULE: TECHNICAL SET-UP

8 hours (with house crew) prior to show if lights and soft

goods are all pre-hung and sound equipment installed.

12 hours (with house crew) prior to show if hanging required.

MOTUS O dance theatre continues their exploration of the human experience in their production “Delusions”.  A full-length program that delves into the psyche of our modern society and the ordinary people that inhabit it.

With their notable style of grace and raw energy, MOTUS O examines the place in us that lives between our hopes and dreams and our reality.  Each of the works in this show adds to the whole, building a tapestry that examines how we feel and respond to our modern lives; what we believe and why we believe it.

Through humour, pathos and poignant satire, MOTUS O takes you on a journey to evaluate what is truth and what is a ‘delusion’.
